Cate is a white queer person living with both privileged and marginalized identities; she actively strives to continue her anti-oppressive learning and aims to support clients in doing the same.
Cate operates from transtheoretical, person-centered perspectives, and practices with adult individuals and relationship dynamics. Folx that work best with Cate appreciate engagement in a non-judgemental, direct, affirming approach to therapy. People they typically work with are experiencing life circumstances related to sexual health, their exploration of gender and sexuality, relationship concerns, codependency, perfectionism, or struggles with interpersonal communication.
Cate graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters in social work, then went on to graduate again from the University's Sexual Health Certificate Program with a dual focus on sex therapy and sexuality education.
She is a proud member of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and is the founder and current director of The Unison - FairSky's sexual and relational health program.
