Chris received a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology (2019), a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Specialization from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (2009), and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Music Performance from Bowling Green State University (2001).
He completed his clinical internship and post-doctoral training at the Cleveland State University Counseling Center where he provided individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, supervision of doctoral students, outreach, and assessment services for a diverse student population. Chris’s research has examined quality of life concerns for transgender individuals, perceptions of therapist empathy through telepsychology, and music performance anxiety. His dissertation explicitly focused on the experience of music performance anxiety for popular musicians. He also has a strong interest and experience working with clients who identify as LGBTQ+ using an affirmative and collaborative style.
Chris provides short and long term therapy using psychodynamic, existential-humanistic, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) approaches to treatment. Being the current Program Director of Bloom Metrics, Chris has been described by colleagues and mentors as warm, empathic, and genuine in his personal and professional manner.
