At the core of my work is my belief that a client-centered approach is key for effective therapy. This means I aim to create an environment free of judgment and full of authentic acceptance in which the client feels psychologically safe and accepted.
In this environment, I believe any person can find within themselves the resources to develop, grow, and live more authentically.
As a former teacher, trainer, and community educator, I see the therapeutic relationship as an opportunity for reciprocal learning–I learn from you as the expert of your life, and I aim to give you new perspectives on the stuff that has blocked, hurt, or puzzled you.
I am a master's student of mental health counseling and art therapy at Wayne State University. I have a BFA in visual art and a BA in Psychology from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor and an MSEd in Urban Education and Students with Disabilities (grades 5-9) from Mercy College in Bronx, NY.
