Matthew Daher FairSky Foundation Therapist

I believe that every human being has the capacity for healing, for creativity, and for finding creative ways to heal. In our work together I am committed to helping you affirm and tap into your inherent wisdom, resources, and strengths.

I work with a variety of clients of different backgrounds / experiences and aim to approach our work with an anti-oppressive lens. I am committed to practicing cultural humility; I regard you as the expert on your life and experiences. I have particular interest in working both individually and in groups with men/boys who want support exploring how masculine socialization relates to their problems, and cultivating healthier masculinity to heal themselves, their interpersonal relationships, and patriarchal systems of gender-based oppression in their communities.

In my work I draw on a variety of approaches, including Narrative, Humanistic, Person-Centered, Mindfulness, Recovery, and Liberation based approaches. I also draw on my training in Expressive Arts Therapy; in our work together we can integrate drama, dance/movement, music, visual art, writing, play and improvisation. Sometimes talk-based therapy can be just what we need to heal. Sometimes arts-based activities can provide new ways of understanding ourselves and processing our problems that lead us to the solutions and healing we are looking for. I’m committed to exploring and finding approaches that work best for you at the pace that feels safe and supportive for you.
