Nina earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Wayne State University. She has experience working with clients in outpatient clinics as well as hospital settings.
Nina’s approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based form of therapy that includes mindfulness, acceptance, and behavior-change strategies to increase psychological flexibility and well-being.
She is also a trained art therapist. Art therapy can be very helpful in expressing thoughts and feelings that can’t be expressed through words alone and in uncovering new insights. If a client is interested in exploring art therapy, Nina can integrate these approaches into the therapeutic process. There is no artistic ability required!
Nina provides a non-judgmental and supportive environment. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process between the client and therapist. Nina will help her client to develop the tools to move forward and take action towards positive change.
Nina specializes in anxiety, depression, chronic illness, aging, grief and loss, and relationship issues.
