Rachel has a Master of Social Work, with a sub-concentration working with military personnel and their families. She has extensive experience working with individuals (adults and teens) with PTSD and traumatic experiences as an inpatient and outpatient clinician. In addition, she has worked closely with those who are challenged by addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Through these experiences, she has found clients need to trust, feel safe, and have a willingness to grow with their therapist. She believes in building this relationship first by providing a non-judgmental, empathetic, and compassionate atmosphere. She has been trained in EMDR as well as other forms of therapy to include DBT, TF- CBT, & Motivational Interviewing, and a background and training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour.
My approach is to meet my client where they are. I do not believe there is one way to approach therapy, instead I believe in a blend that is unique to the client. Please feel free to contact me for a free consultation or appointment by phone or email.
